When properly implemented Best Management Practices (BMPs) will avoid excess soil running off of the logging site and causing sedimentation in streams, lakes, and rivers.
While the specific practices are not required in Ohio, there is a legal prohibition against causing sedimentation. The Best Management Practices are the most efficient way to effectively prevent these problems.
